Natural gourds are best kept in a dry, ventilated setting, away from prolonged damp, immersion in water and strong direct sunlight. Give displayed objects stable support and protect them from knocks. Remove dust gently with a soft, dry cloth or a soft brush. Painted, lacquered or mixed-material pieces may need care suited to their particular finish. Avoid cleaning products that have not been confirmed as suitable. Support the body when moving an object rather than lifting it only by a curved stem, cord or decorative attachment. Before storage, check that the surface is dry and protect areas that may rub against packaging. Subtle changes over time are part of working with natural materials. Ask the supplying studio for the care instructions for a particular piece.
